P2 Chinese Speech & Drama

This year our chinese speech and drama had vibrant costumes again! We always enjoyed it. It's so much fun! The learning process was challenging though. We had to make sure that our diction of the chinese words were pronounced accurately. The timing for each group of characters must respond promptly. We had to stay focussed!
Look at our vest! We look really smart in it!

We liked our red vest! How about you?

The weather is too warm?? Nope! We're getting ready for our act! Doing our last rehearsal before we head up to the stage! Wish us luck!

Chess Enrichment

Check-mate!!! Wait a minute!! No........I still have a few more moves to it. You better beware.

We're having so much fun at chess enrichment in school. Some of us are expert players as we joined modular chess so we share our learning with our other friends who are at beginner stage. They played rather well too.

During the chess enrichment lessons, we learnt the steps used in chess such as promote. There are lots of rules and regulations and we have to follow it. We also learnt lots of values through the activities such as perserverance, never give up spirit to continue even when we have less chess pieces than our friends. Take courage to take risk to lure and defend. Respect, once our hands move away from the chess pieces, we should not request to move back the chess pieces.

At the end, we had a quick ten minutes match. Some of us won a prize for ourselves! Hurray!!

ICT Lesson

We're excited about school lately because we can go to the computer lab to learn a lot of IT skills such as touch typing, insert picture, formatting in both Microsoft Words and Powerpoint.

We were amazed by the pictures when we search for them to insert into our presentation. All the pictures were beautiful. We're spoilt by choices.

The most challenging part of ICT lesson was formatting. There were a lot of steps to follow and check boxes for us to tick so that the effect appears. At times, our clumsy tiny fingers will press on the wrong keys and get our work deleted.

"Aarrrgghh!!" that's one of the common vocabulary we have at computer lab. This would be the time where our instructor and teachers would come to the resuce. Lucky for us, most of the time, they are able to locate back our work.

Rope Skipping

Rope skipping is super fun! Our instructor told us that we've improved so much. Some of us will be performing during the Friday Calisthanics. Here's  sneak peek at our practise session.

Maths Fun

The topic of length is one of our favourites because we get to really measure. We went out of our class to measure the corridor of our classroom. It was really fun.

Our next favourite topic is mutliplication adn division because we get to compete with our friends when a multiplication or division card is drawn out! At times, we got overly excited that we have to shout our answers which troubled our teachers. Oops!

The next fun topic is on numbers within 1000. We learnt about odd and even numbers and patterns. We role-played as teachers to create a pattern for our friends to try out.

Can't wait for the next semester where we get to learn more about Maths and do more hands-on activities.

What's Those?

Wow!!! Look at all those chinese instrument. I've never thought I had a chance to get so close to them. Thanks to our music teachers they allowed us to touch, play and strum on them.
Do you know that this is called a suona. There's so many buttons on it. I wonder how the performer remembers which keys are for which notes.

Dong Dong Dong Dong Dong-DONG! The drums resonates beautifully as we beat the rhythm together!

What about this? Don't you love our group photograph! It's really heavy for us to carry! The strings are made from wire. It hurts when we tried strumming on it. It takes hard work to play it melodiously!

Remembering Mr Lee Kuan Yew

The whole nation was very upset that we've lost another great leader, Mr Lee Kuan Yew. We learnt that he was a man with vision. He was determined and caring. Through our teachers, we also realised that Mr Lee Kuan Yew was a very organised person. He stated his priority right and was hunble as well.

As the nation mourns for the week. We also did our part in writing thank you notes. His story lives on forever in us and we will continue to strive to achieve the best that we can.
